Manipur: Huge Cache Of Rifles, Grenades, Mortars Seized From Three Conflict-Torn Districts
Security forces have reportedly seized a massive cache of arms and ammunition in three districts of Manipur, the state police said in a statement on Saturday.
According to news agency PTI, a joint team led by Manipur Police and Assam Rifles seized two .303 rifles, one 9mm pistol with magazine, cartridges, two detonators, four hand grenades, and one country-made mortar and long-range improvised mortar from Loiching ridge in Kangpokpi district.
In another operation, the state police along with BSF and CRPF forces seized two 'pumpi' (improvised mortars) from Gothol village, Churachandpur district.
Search operations and area domination were conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts. During the search operations the following items were recovered:

State police along with Assam Rifles recovered four HE-36 hand grenades, two 'pumpi' shells, three detonators besides one each of a stun grenade, stinger grenade and tear gas shell from the Phainom hill range in Thoubal district.
These seizures, reportedly, occurred in search and area domination operations carried out by security forces on Friday. However, no one was arrested in connection with the finds.
