Mumbai Police Issues Traffic Advisory For Ganesh Visarjan, Anant Chaturdarshi – Routes To Avoid

According to reports, the coastal roads will be open 24/7 until September 18 to ensure hassle-free travel between North and South Mumbai.

In the latest development, the Mumbai Police has issued a traffic advisory given Anant Chaturdashi & Ganpati Visarjan in the city, urging citizens to plan their commute accordingly. The Ganpati festival which commenced on September 7 will end on the occasion of Anant Chaturdarshi on September 17 with the immersion of idols. Meanwhile, traffic arrangements will be in place across Mumbai to manage the crowd.

According to reports, the coastal roads will be open 24/7 until September 18 to ensure hassle-free travel between North and South Mumbai. Authorities have advised people to refrain from using personal vehicles and commute through local trains and BEST buses to avoid congestion.

Roads To Remain Closed

The list of areas to remain closed for vehicles in South Mumbai includes Nathalal Parekh Marg, Rambhau Salgaonkar Marg, and Captain Prakash Pethe Marg. Vehicle use will also be restricted on Mahapalika Marg outside the CSMT railway station.

Among the other prohibited roads in Kalbadevi are:

1. JSS Road

2. Baba Saheb Jaykar Road

3. Caswasji Patel Tank Road

4. Raja Ram Mohan Roy Road

5. Nanubhai Desai Road

6. Sant Sena Marg

7. Vitthalbhai Patel Road

8. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Road

9. Dr Annie Besant Road in Worli Naka

10. NM Joshi Marg

11. Swatantraveer Savarkar Marg in Dadar

12. Damu Anna Date Marg in Kandivali

13. LT Road (Don Bosco Junction to Borivali Jetty Road

Meanwhile, Motorists are advised to opt for Dr BA Road, Sir JJ Flyover, Lalbaug Flyover Bridge, and the Coastal Road.

Guidelines On Railway Overbridges

Traffic Police has also issued guidelines, prohibiting processions, dancing, and playing loud music on Railway Overbridges (ROBs). New regulations have also been enforced, limiting the number of people crossing each ROB to 100 at a time. However, no restrictions are placed on the CSMT Junction Road, Eastern Freeway, Princess Street, and P D’Mello Road.
