Guwahati: Mystery Surrounds Photographer's Live Suicide On Facebook, Relative Mourns

A young photographer in his late twenties, named Mrinmay Talukdar, live-streamed his suicide on Facebook in the Bhaskar Nagar area of the city on Saturday. Originally from Tihu in lower Assam, Talukdar lived in a rented house in the city.

In Guwahati, Assam, on Saturday, a young photographer named Mrinmay Talukdar took his own life while live streaming on Facebook. Talukdar, originally from Tihu district and living in a rented house in Guwahati, was found by Geetanagar police at around 6 o'clock that evening.

Initial investigations suggest that mental distress may have led him to take this drastic step. The police removed his body from the fan and sent it for postmortem. Talukdar was approximately 27-28 years old.

Police mentioned that no suicide note was found in Talukdar's room. According to a report in TOI, a relative of Mrinmay Talukdar stated that he arrived in Guwahati from his hometown on Saturday morning and began live streaming the incident on Facebook around 3 pm that day.

I watched him for 10 minutes after the live stream began. He seemed fine yesterday, and I didn't know he was unwell. He had bought a new phone the day before. His suicide is a mystery to all of us. He is survived by his brother, sister-in-law, and niece. His parents passed away when he was very young, according to the relative.
