No Ambulance Given, Parents Walk 15 KMs With Sons' Dead Bodies In Maharashtra; Disturbing Video Surfaces
Maharashtra: A young couple from Aheri taluka had to carry the bodies of their two sons, who died from a fever after reportedly not receiving timely treatment, from the hospital to their village 15 km away. This incident happened in Gadchiroli, where Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis is the Guardian Minister, a senior leader stated on Thursday.
A disturbing video shows an unidentified couple carrying the bodies of their two young sons, both under 10 years old, on their shoulders while walking through a muddy forest path. Leader of Opposition Vijay Wadettiwar shared the video, stating that the two brothers had a fever but didn't receive timely treatment. Within a few hours, their condition worsened, and the boys died shortly after, he explained while posting the video of the tragedy.

He added that there was no ambulance available to take the bodies of the two young boys to their village, Pattigaon, forcing the parents to walk 15 km through a muddy, rain-soaked path. This incident once again highlights the harsh reality of the healthcare system in Gadchiroli.
Congress Criticizes Officials For Poor Healthcare In Maharashtra
The Congress leader pointed out that BJP's Devendra Fadnavis is the Guardian Minister of Gadchiroli, while NCP's Dharmarao Baba Atram is the FDA Minister in Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's government. He criticized them for making daily claims about the state's development through various events across Maharashtra. Mr. Wadettiwar urged them to visit Gadchiroli and witness the living conditions and rising death toll there. This is the second similar incident from the Vidarbha region this week, highlighted by the Congress Leader of Opposition.
On September 1, a pregnant tribal woman, Kavita A. Sakol from Dahendri village in the Melghat region of Amravati, delivered a stillborn baby at home and later died due to her own complications. Her family had called for an ambulance from the local hospital, but were told it would take at least four hours to arrive. With no other choice, Kavita gave birth at home, but her condition worsened. Her family then arranged a private vehicle and took her to a rural health center in Churani, but as her condition worsened, they transferred her to Achalpur and later to Amravati.
"The fight for life ended for both the mother and her baby on Sunday morning. Both died due to poor healthcare infrastructure, revealing the negligence of officials in Melghat," said Mr. Wadettiwar. He criticized the government for spending money on publicity for the 'Ladki Bahin' scheme, which gives ₹1500 per month, instead of investing in ambulances that could have saved lives.
