Due to the announced 'No Purchase No Sale' strike by the Rajasthan Petrol Dealers Association, all petrol pumps in Rajasthan will be closed on Sunday, March 8. The strike aims to protest the state's high fuel prices and advocate for a reduction in petrol VAT.
Treasurer of the Rajasthan Petrol Dealers Association, Sandeep Bageria, informed that despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi's pledge to lower petrol prices, the BJP government has yet to make a decision. He further indicated that 33% of petrol dealers are on the brink of closure due to excessively high petrol prices.

Pointing out that Rajasthan imposes the highest VAT on petrol, he stressed the necessity of lowering petrol rates in the state to align with those in other states. He also noted that during the COVID period, the government had increased VAT on petrol prices, which have not been revised since.
