Noida: Fire Erupts in Sector 10 Factory Due to AC Short-Circuit

A large fire broke out on the lower floor of a factory in Noida's Sector 10 on Monday morning due to a short circuit in an air conditioner, fire officials said, adding that no one was injured in the fire.

This is the third fire in the city in the last seven days triggered by a short circuit in an AC unit. Gautam Budh Nagar fire officer also issued a warning and asked people to avoid continuous use of AC.

'Around 10 am on Monday, a factory worker reported to the fire control station that there was a fire on the lower floor of the factory in Block C of Sector 10, which is related to several businesses, including a garment business,' Pradeep Kumar Chaubey. said, Fire Inspector Gautam Budh Nagar.

He further said, 'On receiving the information, eight fire engines from nearby fire stations were rushed to the spot and were able to extinguish the flames within half an hour. But during the extinguishing operations, an explosion occurred on the third floor of the four-story building.'

'When we inquired about the explosion, the owner of the factory said that there was an LPG cylinder on the third floor. Due to the extreme heat caused by the fire on the ground floor, the cylinder exploded,' said Chaubey.

'Our teams quickly reached the third floor of the adjacent building and extinguished the fire before it could engulf the entire factory,' said Yogendra Prasad, fire officer at Phase 1, adding that an investigation revealed that around 9:45 am. when the workers reached the factory. factory and turned on the AC switch in which a spark occurred.

As several cardboard boxes were stored near the short circuit, the fire broke out quickly despite the efforts of the factory workers to contain it.

Two AC short-circuit fires were reported in the city last week.

On May 31, a fire broke out in an IT company in Noida Sector 63 Block H due to a short circuit in the air conditioner (AC).

On May 30, a fire broke out on the 10th floor of a high-rise on Lotus Boulevard in Sector 100, Noida due to a short circuit in an indoor AC unit.
