Vote counting for the Assembly elections in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, alongside the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, is underway today (June 4). Odisha's Assembly elections were conducted in four phases: May 13 (28 constituencies), May 20 (35 constituencies), May 25 (42 constituencies), and June 1 (42 constituencies). The Odisha Assembly comprises 147 constituencies, with 24 seats reserved for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and 33 for Scheduled Tribes (STs). The current Odisha Assembly's term runs from June 25, 2019, to June 24, 2024.

The primary political parties in Odisha are the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) led by Naveen Patnaik, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Congress. Patnaik has served as the Chief Minister of Odisha since 2000 and is poised to become the longest-serving Chief Minister in India if he secures another term. In the 2019 Odisha Assembly Elections, the BJD won 113 seats, securing the state once more. The BJP won 23 seats, while the Congress was reduced to just 9 seats.
