Telangana and Andhra Pradesh continue to face the devastating effects of heavy rainfall, leading to severe flooding, loss of life, and widespread disruptions. Over the past few days, relentless downpours have caused rivers to swell, submerging villages and cities like Hyderabad and Vijayawada.

Emergency Response and Rescue Operations

The chief ministers of both states, A Revanth Reddy of Telangana and N Chandrababu Naidu of Andhra Pradesh, have held emergency meetings to assess the situation and oversee rescue efforts. In Telangana’s Khammam district, 110 villages are under water, with 119 people stranded on hilltops and buildings, awaiting rescue. Union minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar has alerted Home Minister Amit Shah, and nine NDRF teams have been dispatched to assist with rescue operations.
