PM Narendra Modi filed his nomination as the BJP candidate from the Varanasi constituency for the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. He is the sitting MP from Varanasi. He has been winning the seat of Kashi with a huge margin for the last two times in 2014 and 2019.

Known as Shivnagari (the town of lord Shiva), Varanasi has been the choice of PM Modi since his first election as an MP in 2014.

Before filing his nomination on Tuesday, May 14, PM Modi visited the Kaal Bhairav temple to offer prayers to Bhairav Baba, who's known for safeguarding the city, one of the oldest civilisations worldwide.
