PM Modi Launches Membership Drive, Claims 'Only BJP Follows Democracy'

Launching the 'Sanghatan Parva, Sadasyata Abhiyan 2024' on Monday at BJP headquarters Extension Office in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed that BJP is the only party that follows democracy. He also addressed the party members while launching the membership drive, which will be conducted in two phases, September 2 to September 25 and October 1 to October 15.

PM Modi Bats For 33% Reservation

The prime minister who got the mandate for the third consecutive term said that during the membership drive, in the organisational structure, 33% reservation have been implemented in the state Assemblies and Lok Sabha. He added that if the 33% reservation for women comes in this period, he will include all those people in his membership campaign, who can make a maximum number of women victorious and make them MLAs and MPs.

PM Modi: Jan Sangh On Satyagrah

Talking about the contribution of the Jan Sangh, PM Modi said that 50 years ago, people of Jan Sangh were doing 'Satyagraha' in Ahmedabad and so people were jailed just for agitating. He said further that one of the women workers who went to jail spent a month there with her 9-month-old baby. He also claimed that the BJP party workers used to protest against those in power for the issues of the people. So they kept going to and coming out of jail.

PM Modi: Other Parties Made Fun Of BJP

Addressing the party workers while launching Sanghatan Parva, Sadasyata Abhiyan 2024, PM Modi said that during the time of Bharatiya Jana Sangh, party workers used to paint 'diyas', then the symbol of the party on walls with a lot of enthusiasm. He added that other party leaders used to make fun that it wouldn't help us in coming to power. He claimed that the BJP workers are those people who painted lotus on walls with so much focus with a belief that someday this lotus would get painted in the hearts.
