Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday on the rising tensions in the Middle East. During a conversation, Modi expressed his concern over the intensifying situation, saying that "terrorism has no place in our world." He reiterated that the situation should not be allowed to deteriorate further and hostages should be freed safely. Prime Minister Modi reiterated full support for efforts that lead to the restoration of peace and stability at the earliest.

India's Position on Terrorism and Regional Crisis

PM Modi, while posting on X, clearly demonstrated his position for standing with the position taken by India against terrorism while calling upon all concerned to take measures immediately so that regional instability could be avoided. He believed that there was a need for all the nations to collaborate with each other for bringing about a peaceful culmination of the crisis in West Asia.

Military Operations against Hezbollah by Israel:

In the midst of the raging war, Israel has continued to launch airstrikes against Hezbollah, a militant group in Lebanon backed by Iran. It is reported that the Israeli forces have killed several top Hezbollah officials, including its chief, Hassan Nasrallah.

Lebanon Operation Ongoing

The newspaper quotes sources of saying that Israel plans for a limited ground operation in Lebanon following talks with the US, that would not be like the 2006 Lebanon War but shorter in length at 34 days long.

Recent Israeli Raids in Lebanon

The Israeli forces on Monday carried out small-scale raids inside Lebanon as the conflict continues to undermine Hezbollah. According to a senior Israeli official, who spoke anonymously, the operations on the Israeli-Lebanese border are to neutralize the threats.
