Prayagraj: Protest Forces Early School Closure, But This Leads To Unbelievable Situation For A Child

In Prayagraj, UP, people were shocked to hear a child crying from a closed school room. The child was eventually rescued. As a result, the acting principal, Julie Kumari, has been suspended.

This incident took place in the Yamunapar area of Prayagraj, at a primary school in Meja. On Monday, the school staff closed the school half an hour early and sent the students home.

Everyone locked the school and left, but then the sound of a child crying came from one of the rooms. Villagers looked inside the locked room and saw a crying child. Someone made a video of it and shared it on social media, making it go viral.

All the teachers had to go to the District Magistrate's office in Prayagraj to protest against digital attendance. Therefore, the children were dismissed from school half an hour early, and the staff left after locking the doors from outside.

After some time, the sound of a child crying came from the same school room. The villagers, knowing the school was closed, wondered where the child's voice was coming from. When they checked, they found a child crying inside and rescued him.

Shivani, a student from Lohar village in Meja, attends this school, and her younger brother Shivansh is an Anganwadi student on the same campus. After his class ended, Shivansh went to his sister's classroom and fell asleep in a corner. When school ended, Shivani forgot about her brother and went home.

When Shivani got home, her family asked about Shivansh, and she realized she had forgotten him at school. When they searched for Shivansh, he was missing. The family then went to the school with Shivani and found it locked. The teachers had left for a protest and locked the school. After some commotion, a teacher eventually arrived, opened the gate, and let the children out.

After the incident was reported, Primary Education Officer Praveen Kumar Tiwari took action against both teachers. According to BSA Praveen Kumar, the school's closing time for students is 2:00 PM, while teachers are supposed to leave at 2:30 PM. However, the teachers closed the school before 2:00 PM.

Because of the teacher's mistake, the child was locked in the school since the principal was away on duty. Assistant teacher Julie Kumari served as the acting principal. Lalit Singh and Anganwadi cook Saroj Singh were also present. Julie Kumari has been suspended for her negligence, and Lalit Singh's salary has been withheld for one day. A committee has been formed to investigate, with Block Education Officer Arun Kumar Awasthi as the investigating officer.
