Rain Lashes Several Parts Of Delhi NCR, Visibility Improves In Capital

Delhi: Delhiites woke up to a fresh spell of rainfall on Sunday morning as the minimum temperature of the capital settled at 14.0 degree Celsius at 5:30 am, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). However, no dense fog reported over the national capital.

“Delhi experienced varied rainfall patterns during the early morning hours of February 4, 2024. Safdarjung recorded 0.8 mm, Palam had 0.6 mm, Lodi Road reported 0.5 mm, while Mungeshpur received a higher amount at 2.5 mm. Pitampura, Narela, Ujwa, and Jafarpur all noted a consistent 0.5 mm of rainfall each,” said IMD.

Delhi Minimum Temperature

In Delhi at 0530 hrs IST on February 4, 2024, the temperature at Safdarjung, base station of capital witnessed 14.0℃ which is 5.8℃ above the normal for this season, it said.

Similarly, Palam registered a temperature of 14.0℃, which is also 5.4℃ above the normal for this time of the year, said weather department.

Weather In Other States

As of 0530 hours IST today, diverse fog conditions are prevalent in various regions of India. Odisha is experiencing dense to very dense fog in isolated pockets, notably affecting Paradip with a visibility of 25 meters, Chandbali with 50 meters, Balasore with 200 meters, and Gopalpur with 500 meters. In Bihar, moderate fog is observed in isolated areas, and Purnea reports a visibility of 200 meters. Meanwhile, in Jammu & Kashmir and East Rajasthan, shallow fog is present in isolated pockets, with Kupwara and Banihal recording 500 meters each, and Jaipur at 500 meters. Gangetic West Bengal also reports shallow fog in Digha, with a visibility of 500 meters.

The observed fog patterns underscore the need for cautious travel, especially in the affected areas of Odisha, Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, East Rajasthan, and Gangetic West Bengal. Local authorities and residents are advised to stay informed about the changing weather conditions and take necessary precautions to ensure public safety during this period of varied fog intensity.
