Relief From Heat: IMD Predicts Rain In 20 States, Including Delhi, UP, And Bihar

The weather is varying across the country. Some areas are dealing with heavy rains, while others are enduring a heatwave, hoping for rain. The northeastern states are experiencing landslides due to continuous rain. Meanwhile, North India is still suffering from the heatwave. However, on June 19, light rain brought some change to the weather in the mountains. Yesterday, strong winds blew through Delhi and nearby areas, but the heat persists. The Meteorological Department predicted rain in about 20 states within the next two hours, around 7 am on June 20.

Rain is expected in these states

The IMD released satellite images indicating that light to moderate rains, along with scattered thunderstorms, lightning, or strong winds, are likely in some areas of Punjab, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, East Vidarbha, East Telangana and nearby North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep, South Gujarat, North Konkan, Goa and Karnataka, West Assam and Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, and East Uttar Pradesh.

The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for Delhi and its surrounding areas. In the next two hours, light to moderate rain will occur in parts of North, North-East, North-West, West, and Central Delhi, as well as NCR (Loni Dehat) and other nearby areas, with winds blowing at 30-50 km/h. Rain is also expected in Noida, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, Hindon AF Station, Bahadurgarh, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Chhapraula, Sonipat, Rohtak, Kharkhoda, Baghpat, Khekra, Modinagar, Pilkhua, Manesar, Ballabhgarh, Mattanhail, Jhajjar, Farukhnagar, Sohna, Palwal, Baraut, Meerut, Kithor, Hapur, Gulavti, Secunderabad, and Bulandshahr.

The late-night rain and thunderstorms in many parts of Delhi have brought some relief. According to the forecast, Delhi will be partly cloudy today, with a chance of a dust storm and light rain. The maximum temperature could reach 42 degrees, and the minimum could be 33 degrees. Strong winds are also expected on June 21 and 22.

According to Skymet, a heat wave to severe heat wave conditions could occur in Uttar Pradesh today, and some areas of Madhya Pradesh and North Rajasthan might experience heat wave conditions, which may decrease later. Nights are expected to stay hot in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh.
