In response to extreme heatwave, many states have announced summer breaks to protect children's health, with Noida schools also closing for summer vacation.

Temperatures ranging from 40 to 47 degrees have been observed in multiple areas, including Agra, Kanpur, and Noida. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave alert for regions such as Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Haryana. In response to the extreme heat and to protect children's health, most states have announced summer breaks. Schools in Noida have also shut down for summer vacation due to the escalating temperatures.

Heatwave In Uttar Pradesh

Due to the intense heat and heatwave conditions in Uttar Pradesh, the Basic Education Department announced a month-long holiday for local schools starting Saturday. All schools are set to reopen on June 18. During the summer break in 2024, assignments will be sent via an online application. This order applies to government schools, while private schools in UP will commence their summer vacation between May 20 and May 25.

UP Schools Summer Vacation

The Uttar Pradesh Education Department has announced that all primary schools will begin their summer vacation on May 20, 2024, due to the current weather conditions. For private schools in Delhi NCR's Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad, the last working day was Friday, May 17, 2024. These schools are expected to reopen in approximately 40 days, with some resuming around June 18 and others in the final week of June or the first week of July.

Delhi School Summer Vacation

A heatwave alert has also been issued for Delhi. The summer break dates for government and government-aided schools have been announced, along with the timetable for most private institutions. Summer break for all Delhi government and government-aided schools started on May 11 and will last until June 30. However, teachers are required to report to work on June 28 and 29.
