Fumed over Pitroda's racist comment on northeastern and southern Indian people, Narendra Modi said, "I'm outraged today. If someone cusses me, I bear that, I don't get angry. But today the philosopher of Shehzada (quoting Sam Pitroda as the philosopher and Rahul Gandhi as shehzada) has filled me with anger. Someone please tell me, will the potential of people in my country be determined on the basis of skin colour? Those who dance with the constitution over their head are discriminating against the people of my country on the basis of skin colour.

Sam Pitroda sparked outrage from his controversial statement wherein he compared the northeastern Indians with the Chinese, stating that they resemble them. He also said that the South Indians look like Africans.

Though the Congress party and other political parties of the INDIA bloc including AAP have distanced themselves from Pitroda's comment, the comment has not gone well with the indigenous people of the mentioned regions and the political leaders.

Leaders of the BJP including Narendra Modi, Giriraj Singh, Sudhanshu Trivedi, and Manipur CM Biren Singh have strongly opposed Sam Pitroda for his super racist comment that goes against the core of the constitution. The Congress party has labeled his comment as unfortunate and unacceptable.

Actually, speaking on the diversity of India, Sam Pitroda had said, "We could hold a country together as diverse as India, where people on the East look like Chinese, people on the West look like Arabs, people on the North maybe look like White and people in South India look like Africans."

Before this, Pitroda had stirred controversy by mentioning the inheritance tax which the Congress government incorporated.
