SHOCKING And BIZARRE: NRI Husband Delivers 'Triple Talaq' Via Video Message From London
In a bizarre and dramatic incident, a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) allegedly gave 'Triple Talaq' to his wife, by sending her a video from London. The accused, identified as Faisal Patel from Navsari,reportedly inflicted physical and mental torture on the victim.
As per the latest reports, Lalgate police have charged Patel under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)- 498A, 323, 504 and also relevant sections of 'The Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act, 2019.'
Victim Discovers Husband’s London Family And Confronts Him
According to sources, the victim married Faisal Patel from Navsari's Dabhel village in February 2020 post-divorcing her first husband in 2018.
Patel who held a UK Visa, often traveled to London for work and returned back to India. Findings revealed that he stopped financially supporting his wife after few months of his marriage and subjected her to torture. He physically abused the victim over various reasons, including cooking.
Eventually, the victim discovered Patel's relationship with other women and about his wife and children in London. When she confronted him, Patel sent a video to her declaring 'Triple Talaq' in April.
Victim Files Complaint After 'Iddat' Period
After receiving the disturbing footage, the victim observed 'Iddat' for three months. On completion of the period, she filed a complaint at Lalgate Police station on September 3, following which FIR was registered on September 7.
