SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav Visits Mukhtar Ansari's Residence To Pay Respect

Akhilesh Yadav, the National President of the Samajwadi Party and former Chief Minister, visited Gazipur to express condolences over the death of Mukhtar Ansari, who passed away on March 28 due to a heart attack.

To express condolences over the death of Mukhtar Ansari, the National President of the Samajwadi Party and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav visited Gazipur on Sunday. He arrived at the residence of Afzal Ansari, the MP candidate from Ghazipur, to pay his respects. Tight security arrangements were made during this visit.

It should be noted that after the death of Mukhtar Ansari, there has been an ongoing series of visits by several prominent leaders to Gazipur to express condolences. Akhilesh Yadav reached the residence of Mukhtar Ansari's brother, Afzal Ansari, to offer condolences and tribute. Afterwards, he proceeded to the Kali Bagh cemetery. There, he laid flowers on Mukhtar's grave and paid his respects.

During this time, strict security arrangements were in place. A heavy contingent of police and paramilitary forces, along with the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police, were deployed. Upon receiving information about Akhilesh Yadav's arrival, a large crowd gathered outside Afzal's residence. However, along with the crowd, journalists and other individuals were also prevented from entering inside.

Mukhtar Ansari, who was incarcerated in Banda jail, passed away on March 28 after experiencing a heart attack. Despite efforts from a team of nine doctors at Rani Durgavati Medical College, Ansari could not be revived. His funeral took place in his native village of Ghazipur on March 29.

Following Ansari's death, a magisterial investigation comprising three members was initiated to probe the circumstances surrounding his demise.

In April 2023, Ansari had been found guilty and sentenced to 10 years in prison for the murder of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai by an MP-MLA court. Additionally, he received a life sentence on March 13 of the current year for a case involving the use of forged documents to obtain an arms license in 1990.'
