SC grants bail to Arvind Kejriwal: The Supreme Court has begun hearing Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's bail plea, and he has been granted bail. He spent 50 days in jail since his arrest on March 22 and was in ED custody and Tihar jail. Kejriwal filed a petition challenging his arrest in the Supreme Court. Keeping the ongoing Lok Sabha elections 2024 in mind, he also requested interim bail to campaign.

During the petition hearing on May 7, Supreme Court Justices Dipankar Dutta and Sanjeev Khanna reserved their decision, which they will announce today. Additionally, ED submitted an affidavit in the Supreme Court yesterday opposing Kejriwal's bail. Today, ED will also file the charge sheet for the Delhi liquor scam case in the Rouse Avenue court.

The legal team of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has lodged a complaint in the Supreme Court, strongly objecting to the ED affidavit. Kejriwal's legal team alleges that the affidavit was submitted after the hearing had concluded and just before the Supreme Court was set to deliver its verdict, which they argue violates due legal process. The affidavit was filed without obtaining permission from the Supreme Court.

ED has been investigating the case for 2 years but has not found any evidence. The Chief Minister of the capital was arrested based solely on someone's statement. All the individuals mentioned by ED in court are close to BJP. ED is taking action against Kejriwal based solely on these statements, indicating that they are operating under BJP's instructions.
