With emphasis on framing clear guidelines on remarks of constitutional judges in the courts, a five-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and comprising Justices S Khanna, B R Gavai, S Kant, and H Roy felt it is all the more necessary to ensure that judges' remarks don't dent the decorum the courts are supposed to maintain as social media keeps on tracking and echo-ing courtroom proceedings.

Media Reports Highlighted Karnataka Judge's Remark

Chief Justice Chandrachud said the media reports highlighted certain comments allegedly by a Karnataka High Court judge made during court proceedings. He requested the Karnataka High Court to submit a report after consulting with its Chief Justice. He also said that the Supreme Court may evolve some sort of guidelines.
