Tamil Nadu: A nursing student from Theni recently claimed that she was abducted and gang-raped by unidentified men while traveling from her hometown to Dindigul. The incident sparked concern, leading the victim's father to approach the Theni Police for help after he lost contact with her. However, after a thorough investigation, the Dindigul District Police found no evidence supporting the claims of abduction or assault. It was revealed that the student had filed a false complaint due to mental stress.
Currently, a case was registered under sections 70 and 87 of the BNS Act.

Victim Reported Abduction Near Station

The nursing student initially complained that she was followed by a woman in black attire while going to Dindigul. After losing contact with her father, the father filed a complaint with Theni Police. Later on, the student was found near Dindigul Railway Station; she told local authorities about the alleged abduction and assault on her. The victim had mentioned to the assailants that they had left her near the station, after committing rape with her, approximately 50 kilometers away from there.

Investigation And Medical Treatment

The Dindigul District Superintendent of Police, Pradeep met the student at Dindigul Government Medical College and Hospital where she is undergoing treatment.

The alleged epileptic attack of the student during the initial interrogation made it even more difficult for the investigating authorities. Meanwhile, based on the complaint filed by a concerned teacher against Kowsalya, the police registered FIR under two sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and continued their investigation. It was later confirmed that the complaint was false, and was filed because the victim was mentally stressed.
