Delhi: In a tragic incident, 11 people died as a paint factory in the national capital’s Dayalpur Market in Alipur area caught major fire on Thursday. However, among the four people who were admitted to hospital, one is police official who sustained injuries while conducting rescue operation.

Delhi Fire Service

Informing about the incident, an official for the Delhi Fire Service (DFS) privy to development said that the call regarding the tragedy was received at around 5:30 in the evening, following which 22 fire tenders rushed to the spot to control the situation.

The Video Of Flames Engulf Factory Surfaces

A harrowing incident captured on video in which Delhi’s paint factory engulfed with massive flames creating a daunting spectacle. The ensuing smoke clouds hovered the surrounding area, painting a grim picture of the intensity of the fire.

Nearby houses and shops were also affected by the fire caused by the massive fire.

Delhi Police

As per a senior police official, the fire was triggered by a preceding blast within the factory.

“As soon as the call was received regarding the incident, a Quick Response Team (QRT) was immediately dispatched for the spot,” he said.

The further investigation is underway.

Delhi's fire problem 

Meanwhile, the situation of the national capital is far away from getting better in terms if fire incidents in the city as just a few days back, a house fire in Delhi's Shahdara area claimed four lives, including a nine-month-old girl, due to suffocation. Furthermore, on January 18, a multi-storey building caught fire in northwest Delhi's Pitampura resulting in the tragic deaths of six people, including four women.
