An FIR has been lodged in Bengaluru against Union Minister of State for Railways, Ravneet Singh Bittu, for allegedly referring to Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, as the “number one terrorist of the country.”

Details of the Allegation

The FIR was filed at the High Grounds police station on Wednesday, following a complaint against Bittu. The complaint stems from comments Bittu made on September 15 during a media interaction. He claimed that efforts to divide communities, including Muslims and Sikhs, were linked to support for Gandhi, which he described as coming from “terrorists.”

Background on Bittu

Ravneet Singh Bittu, who was a three-time MP from Congress, joined the BJP before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Additionally, the High Grounds police have filed a case against Karnataka BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal. The complaint alleges that on September 14, Yatnal personally attacked Rahul Gandhi by questioning his birth origin during a media statement in Nagamangala.
