Union Ministers' Lok Sabha Election Outcome: Winners and Losers

Anurag Thakur won for the fifth consecutive time from Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh, receiving 607,068 votes. He defeated Satpal Raizada of the Congress by a convincing margin of 182,357 votes.

The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) nominated numerous Union Ministers for the 2024 elections. While many of them won and returned to Parliament, several other prominent figures were defeated.

Notable winners included Nitin Gadkari, who won the Nagpur seat with a significant margin, and Anurag Thakur, who secured victory in Hamirpur for the fifth consecutive time. Additionally, Sarbananda Sonowal won in Dibrugarh, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat succeeded in Jodhpur, and Amit Shah emerged victorious in Gandhinagar.

Smriti Irani in Amethi joins the ranks of Union Ministers who fell short of victory. Rajeev Chandrasekhar's defeat in Thiruvananthapuram, Arjun Munda's loss in Khunti, Mahendra Nath Pandey's defeat to the Samajwadi Party's Birendra Singh in Chandauli, and Ajay Mishra Teni's loss in Lakhimpur Kheri were other prominent figures who did not succeed in the elections.
