UPPSC Exam: There was rigging in the PCS judicial examination in Uttar Pradesh. In the main exam, 50 answer sheets were switched. The UP Public Service Commission admitted to the Allahabad High Court that the exam was rigged. Allegations against the Commission include changing PCS answer sheets and passing candidates in exchange for bribes.

In UP, judges in subordinate courts are appointed through the PCS judicial examination. The UP Public Service Commission admitted in court that answer sheets were altered by incorrect coding. Three junior officers were suspended over this incident. The next High Court hearing is on July 8.

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission has acted against five officers and employees in the alleged case of altering a PCS J candidate's answer sheet. UPPSC Secretary Ashok Kumar stated that Section Officer Shiv Shankar, Review Officer Neelam Shukla, and Assistant Review Officer Bhagwati Devi were suspended for negligence in the investigation.

He mentioned that the supervising officer has also chosen to initiate departmental proceedings against Deputy Secretary Satish Chandra Mishra. Additionally, approval has been requested from the state government to take action against retired Assistant Review Officer Chandrakala.

PCS (J) Main Exam-2022 candidate Shravan Pandey reviewed his answer sheet under RTI. He then filed a petition in the Allahabad High Court, claiming that the handwriting on his English answer sheet was different and that some pages of the second answer sheet were torn, which prevented him from passing the main examination.

On June 5, 2024, following this, the High Court instructed the UPPSC to bring the petitioner's six question paper answer sheets to court. On June 7, 2024, the Commission appeared in the High Court and submitted an affidavit stating that they are currently reviewing 18,042 answer sheets of all 3,019 candidates who participated in the main examination, ensuring confidentiality during evaluation.

Meanwhile, the commission began displaying the answer sheets to candidates starting from June 20. Candidates who took the PCS-J 2022 main examination will view their copies by July 30 based on their roll numbers. Currently, 232 candidates have reviewed their answer sheets.

The UP Judicial Service Civil Judge (Main) Exam 2022 took place from May 22 to May 25, 2023. The results were announced on August 30, 2023, and the marks were published in November 2023.
