A video clip of Home Minister Amit Shah appearing to reprimand BJP leader and former Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan at Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's swearing-in ceremony has stirred controversy and speculation on social media.

The brief exchange, captured on camera, shows Tamilisai greeting Amit Shah, who then calls her back and engages in what appears to be a serious discussion. This has sparked a buzz on social media, with users speculating about the nature of their conversation.

Some people have connected the incident to the ongoing infighting within the Tamil Nadu BJP, specially between supporters of state president K Annamalai and Tamilisai Soundararajan.

The controversy has caught the attention of the DMK, the ruling party in Tamil Nadu. DMK spokesperson Saravanan Annadurai took to X to comment, "What kind of politics is this? Is it polite to publicly reprimand a prominent female politician from Tamil Nadu? Amit Shah should know that everyone will see this. A very wrong example!"

The underlying issue seems to be a rumored rift between Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai and Tamilisai Soundararajan following the party’s defeat in the Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu. The controversy started when the BJP failed to win any seats in the Tamil Nadu Lok Sabha elections. Party officials allegedly blamed Annamalai for this defeat, citing his approach as the reason for the AIADMK breaking its alliance with the BJP, which they believe caused substantial losses for the party.

AIADMK leader and former state minister SP Velumani directly accused Annamalai of causing the party's breakup with the BJP before the crucial elections. Tamilisai, who unsuccessfully contested the Chennai South seat, also believed that the BJP-AIADMK alliance could have secured up to 35 seats if it had continued.

In a recent interview, Tamilisai took a dig at Annamalai over the poll debacle. This criticism did not sit well with Annamalai's supporters, who criticized Tamilisai online. In response, her supporters also engaged in a confrontation on social media.

Tamilisai Soundararajan has yet to respond to the video clip, which has become a topic of heated debate.
