WATCH: Attack On Foreign Students At Gujarat University, Mob Vandalizes Hostel Room

Unknown assailants assaulted international students at Gujarat University in Ahmedabad. They also damaged a hostel room and engaged in chanting slogans and throwing stones.

The students, who resided in a university hostel, were targeted during the attack on Saturday night, which took place within the grounds of the state university. The wounded students have been hospitalized at SVP Hospital in Ahmedabad.

At present, all entrances to the university have been shut down. Law enforcement authorities have initiated an inquiry into the occurrence.

Footage of the incident has emerged, depicting a gathering of individuals hurling stones at the hostel while chanting slogans. The individual recording the video can be heard remarking, "This is the situation in our hostel A Block... This is intolerable; they are coming here to assault us in our own hostel."

On Sunday, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi condemned the attack and raised questions about whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah would intervene, given that the incident occurred in their home state of Gujarat.

"This is the home state of @AmitShah & @narendramodi. Will they intervene to send a strong message? I am not holding my breath. @DrSJaishankar domestic anti-Muslim hatred is destroying India’s goodwill," Owaisi added.
