In the hills, afternoon rains resulted in the falling of rockslides on several important roads.

More Heavy Rains to Lash States, Said The IMD
The IMD has predicted more heavy rains in several parts of the country. It has, however, predicted continued rains in the desert state of Rajasthan for the next three days. Most parts of the state are on a high alert. Like its predecessor in Uttarakhand, this state too has issued a thunderstorm with heavy rains warning which could be prevalent even till September 19. There was minimal rainfall in most areas of the districts and administrative regions until the afternoon. But even now, the weather office has issued a warning about possible torrential rains.

On the other hand, south Indian states-coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, and Lakshadweep-are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall during the period. Most other regions will likely be affected by heavy rains during the week, with Manipur, Puducherry, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, and Mizoram.
