Weather Update: Delhi Receives Heavy Rain, Brings Pleasant Winds; NCR Advised Vigilance For 3 Days

Weather Update: Amidst the scorching heat and strong sunlight experienced in Delhi-NCR over the past few days, the weather suddenly changed, becoming pleasant in many parts of Delhi due to early morning rain on Saturday. On Friday night, a dust storm affected most areas of NCR, including Delhi and Noida, leading to dark skies and worsening weather conditions. Reports of trees falling in various places due to the storm have caused traffic problems for people. The rain in many areas of Delhi on Saturday morning provided relief from the intense heat. The pleasant weather has brought smiles to the faces of people in Delhi-NCR.

The Meteorological Department predicts the likelihood of rain accompanied by thunderstorms on Saturday as well. Temperatures are expected to range between 39 and 29 degrees Celsius. Areas of Western UP have received Orange and Yellow alerts due to the inclement weather conditions. The Meteorological Department also anticipates rain on both Saturday and Sunday.

The storm that occurred on Friday night caused a slowdown in traffic speeds. Two-wheeler riders faced particular difficulties, especially because of the dust storm. Numerous trees broke and fell during this time, leading to road closures and necessitating alternate routes for transportation.

Weather Update for Delhi-NCR

The Meteorological Department reported winds blowing at speeds exceeding 50 km per hour in Delhi. Specific wind speeds were recorded at various locations: Ujwa at 77 km per hour, Jafarpur at 57 km per hour, Lodhi Road at 61 km per hour, Pragati Maidan at 63 km per hour, Pitampura at 57 km per hour, Naraina at 50 km per hour, and Najafgarh at 40 km per hour.

Bad weather significantly affected flights, leading to the diversion of two Air India flights to Jaipur. The sudden change in weather, characterized by rising temperatures in Delhi-NCR, was followed by strong winds in the evening, causing a drop in mercury levels. Many individuals have shared pictures and videos of the storm on social media platforms.

The Meteorological Department predicts increased rainfall in Delhi-NCR due to the Badra cyclone. A yellow storm alert has been issued for Saturday and Sunday, emphasizing the need for caution among Delhi-NCR residents. The upcoming rain is expected to keep temperatures below 40 degrees for the next three days, providing definite relief from the heat during this period.
