India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its weather forecast has predicted very heavy rainfall in several parts of India including Gujarat, Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, Maharashtra, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Uttarakhand.
Whereas heavy rainfall is predicted in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Jharkhand.
IMD has also said that the line of withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon continues to pass through Firozpur, Sirsa, Churu, Ajmer, Mount Abu, Deesa, Surendranagar, Junagarh and 21°N/70°E.
For the national capital, Delhi, light rain and drizzle has been predicted. The sky will remain generally cloudy. No specific warning has been released for Delhi. Maximum temperature will be 34°Celsius and minimum temperature will be 24°Celsius.
The southern parts of the country have been receiving significant rainfall from last 24 hours. In Konkan, extremely heavy rainfall was observed during past 24 hours till 08:30 IST
According to the IMD weather forecast, heavy rains are likely to continue in Mumbai till September 27.
IMD has issued All India warning of rain from 28th September to 1st October 2024.
