Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin's son, Udhayanidhi Stalin has been appointed as Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to be held on September 29 at 3:30 PM at Raj Bhavan, Chennai.

He is presently the minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development and will also handle the Planning and Development portfolio among others as a part of cabinet reshuffling.

Tamil Nadu Governor R. N. Ravi has approved CM M. K. Stalin's recommendations for a cabinet reshuffle within the state and the elevation of Stalin as the state's Deputy CM.

Who Is Udhayanidhi Stalin?

Udhayanidhi Stalin transformed his successful acting career into a strong political position. As a member of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), he has delivered youth-oriented policies to meet the needs and aspirations of youngsters in Tamil Nadu.

Born on 27 November 1977, Stalin is an Indian Film Producer and actor-turned-politician known for his work in Tamil Cinema. In December 2022, he was appointed as the Youth Welfare and Sports Development Minister and Special Act Implementation Department Minister of Tamil Nadu, by his father.

Udhayanidhi began his career in films with production and distribution through his studio, Red Giant Movies. He produced several films, including Kuruvi (2008), Aadhavan (2009), Manmadan Ambu (2010), and 7aum Arivu (2011). He began acting in 2012 with the romantic comedy 'Oru Kal Oru Kannadi', and later continued to produce and act in his films. However, in 2023 he ceased his acting career to go full-time into politics.
