Dosha if one sees the moon

There's a religious belief around the auspicious day of Ganesh Chaturthi which is not-so-auspicious for the strong believers. It is said that one shouldn't look at the moon on this day. Seeing the moon on Ganesh Chaturthi brings bad luck as per the stories. If mythology is to be believed, it impacts the person with a dosha following which one gets trapped in wrong and fake allegations in life and keeps getting in soup one after the other.

Behind the belief

The mythological story behind this saying is about Lord Ganesha himself and the moon. As per the story, Ganesha was riding on his mouse one day when he tripped due to his weight. While this happened, the moon, which is also considered God in Hinduism, couldn't stop but laugh. It didn't go well with Ganesha who got angry seeing the moon's reaction and cursed it.
