After Vizag Show, MS Dhoni Recommended To Bat Higher By Former Indian Cricketer

After a considerable wait for the Indian cricket fans, they finally got to see their Thala MS Dhoni take the field with the bat and do what he does best. Dhoni's 16-ball 37* didn't just get the crowd off their seats but also saw many former players and pundits in awe of his power and shot selection at the age of 42.

Mohammed Kaif has proposed that MS Dhoni should occupy the No.4 or No.5 batting positions for CSK in the upcoming IPL 2024 season following his impressive performance against Delhi Capitals in Vizag on March 31.

"It didn't seem like he wasn't playing cricket regularly. He hasn't played Ranji or club cricket matches or is he playing for India. He is just playing IPL to IPL."

"But the way he batted today, this No.8 isn't his spot. He should be playing at No.4 or No.5. Come in and playing a few deliveries but Dhoni is batting way too low at No.8. The form that we saw today, that spot is too low and you would like to see him come early and help CSK win matches," said Kaif.

Dhoni's dynamic innings of 37 runs off 16 balls, despite CSK's loss by 20 runs, garnered widespread acclaim from pundits and fans alike. Kaif, in a video on his official X account, expressed his admiration for Dhoni's display, particularly noting his infrequent participation in cricket matches.

Kaif emphasized that Dhoni's current batting position is too low and suggested he should be sent in earlier to enhance CSK's chances of victory. Highlighting Dhoni's dominance in Vizag, Kaif underscored the challenge he poses for opposing bowlers, indicating that his form remains formidable throughout the IPL 2024 season.

"Delhi's bowling was very good, Rishabh Pant came into form, but Dhoni took home the limelight in Vizag. It was superb batting, the ball were going off the middle."

"How he started his career off in Vizag, I was there in the ground when he scored that hundred against Pakistan. The long-haired Dhoni who hit big sixes against Pakistan, returned today. The sound off the bat was fantastic. It's warning sound for the bowlers in the coming matches, because I feel the form will continue for Dhoni this IPL season," said Kaif.
