During an interview with ESPN Australia and New Zealand, Maxwell remarked that he often needs to remind Kohli of his age, describing him as having a youthful demeanor on the field. Despite being 35 years old, Kohli remains the highest run-scorer in IPL history, having scored 7,466 runs in 241 matches for Bengaluru across 17 seasons. His IPL career boasts an average of 37.71, including seven centuries and 52 half-centuries.

“He's been bouncing around and is very happy since coming back with the RCB boys. He's been playing well and running around the field. He’s like a kid in the field - it’s so funny watching him bounce around - I have to sort of remind him to act his age every now and then because he’s making me look bad,” said Maxwell.

In the ongoing IPL 2024 season, Kohli has recorded two half-centuries, placing him at the forefront of the Orange Cap race, closely followed by Riyan Parag from Rajasthan and Heinrich Klaasen from Hyderabad. Kohli is aiming for his second Orange Cap title, having previously secured the honor in 2016 by setting a record of 973 runs, the highest tally by an individual batsman in a single IPL season.
