The Indian Team will be preparing for the Test series against Bangladesh after a long break from an upsetting defeat against Sri Lanka earlier. The Indian cricketers have got a great chance to revamp and come play again with a fresh mind. The two-Test series against Bangladesh will start followed by successive Test matches for the 'Men in Blue' before their most important tour to Australia.

Bumrah might sit out for the first two Test matches

According to a report by Indian Express, India's top fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah might not be included in the team for the series against Bangladesh. The reason mentioned for his absence is workload management and the hectic schedule of the Indian Team.

Jasprit Bumrah was last seen in the T20 World Cup, where team India gained victory over South Africa to clinch the World Cup title.

In March 2023, Bumrah underwent a surgery for a stress fracture, he was out of action since September 2022 then.

Top Indian players to appear in Duleep Trophy

Even though there is a possibility that Bumrah might miss out, top Indian Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is likely to appear in the first round of the Duleep Trophy,  BCCI has decided to shift one of the matches from Anantpur to Bengaluru. Another speculation is that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma might get an exemption from participating in the Duleep Trophy.

The Duleep trophy was scheduled to be played in two-sets of first rounds to be held at Anantpur in Andhra Pradesh from Septermber 5, but now the games have been shifted to M Chinnaswamy in Bengaluru.

"The decision has been made to accommodate some of the top players, so that they get a feel of the red-ball cricket ahead of the (Test) series against Bangladesh," a source close to the development told PTI.
