Gwalior will be the hosting the first T20I between India and Bangladesh, the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) announced that the first T20I that was supposed to take place in Dharamsala on October 6 will now be played in Gwalior.

The decision to change the venue came due to the ongoing renovation work being held by the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association.

"The first 20I between India and Bangladesh, initially set to be held in Dharamsala on 6th October 2024, will now take place in Gwalior owing to upgrades and renovation work being carried out by the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association in the dressing rooms," the BCCI mentioned in a media release.

It is the first time an international match will be played at the newly built Shrimant Madhavarao Scindia Cricket Stadium, which makes it even more significant. It will also be the first international fixture in Gwalior since the India vs South Africa ODI was played in 2010, the game remains memorable as it was the first time Sachin Tendulkar became the first male cricketer to score a double century in ODIs.

Another change that can be seen is that BCCI has agreed to swap the venues for first and second T20I against England in January 2025. The initial host was Chennai but now Kolkata will be hosting the first one and Chennai will be hosting the second T20I. This was done because Kolkata police has requested the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) due Republic Day duties.
