Opting to bat first, skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli started steadily during the powerplay. After a brief rain delay, Kohli's innings was cut short as he was dismissed for just 4 runs by Naseem Shah.
Rohit Sharma continued to bat aggressively but was out for an unlucky 13 when Shaheen Afridi claimed his first wicket of the day.
The crucial partnership between Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel brought some momentum to India’s innings. Axar Patel scored 20 before departing, while Pant continued to play well, hitting shots around the ground.
With the score at 96/7, Hardik Pandya (7) and Arshdeep Singh (9) worked towards a strong finish.
Rishabh Pant ended up as India's top-scorer, guiding the team to a total of 119 in their 20 overs.
Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf led Pakistan's bowling attack with three wickets each, while Mohammad Amir took two wickets.
IND Fight Back To Win By 6 Runs
Chasing a modest 120 on a tricky New York pitch, it was Pakistan openers Mohd Rizwan and Babar Azam who started well in the powerplay.
While Babar was dismissed on just 13 runs, his opening partner Mohd Rizwan batted on with a steady 31 for the side. Both Usman Khan and Fakhar Zaman also got dismissed at 13 runs each courtesy of a good bowling display by both spinners and pacers.
The pressure was further intensified as Jasprit Bumrah took the all-important wicket of opener Mohd Rizwan with a brilliant delivery. Another great spell of pressure paid off as Hardik Pandya also got one to his name, sending Shahdab Khan back to the pavilion at just 4 runs.
Rizwan ended up being the top scorer for the Men in Green as Team India snatched the victory away from Pakistan with a 6-run win in New York.
Jasprit Bumrah proved to be Pakistan's worst nightmare yet again, taking 3 wickets on the day. Hardik Pandya also contributed well with 2 wickets for India.
With this defeat, Pakistan have made their task of qualifying for the Super 8 even more difficult with 2 defeats in as many games in the tournament.
