India dominated their group stage, defeating Pakistan, Ireland, and the United States, and continued their winning streak in the Super 8 stage with victories over Australia, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh.

In the semi-final, India triumphed over Jos Buttler’s England by 68 runs at the Providence Stadium in Guyana, setting a target of 172 and bowling out England for 103. Suryakumar Yadav poses a significant threat to South Africa. He has an impressive record against the Proteas, scoring 343 runs in 6 matches at an average of 68.60 and a strike rate of 177.72, with one century and four fifties. He is one of the few Indian batsmen, along with Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina, to have scored a century against South Africa in T20Is.

Kuldeep Yadav has also been effective against South Africa, with figures of 5.5-0-43-6 in 2 matches, including a five-wicket haul at the New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.
