The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is here and many players from across the globe showcase their talent in what can be considered as one of the best domestic cricket leagues in the world. With experienced players set to be the strongest point for the teams, youngsters also spring a surprise in the tournament at times.

This time, a new batch of youngsters have been picked by the respective teams, and that too at a big price. Here are some of the young guns who might take IPL 2024 by storm.

Rachin Ravindra

New Zealand batter Rachin Ravindra took the ODI World Cup 2023 by storm at the age of just 24. Playing in his first ever cricket world cup last year, Rachin looked like he belonged to the stage right away with his effortless batting displays. He also became the highest run scorer in a World Cup for New Zealand. The Kiwi batter has been bought by Chennai Super Kings for a whopping Rs 1.80 Crore despite his lack of experience in the T20 format.

Left-arm pacer from Australia Spencer Johnson has been bought by last year's runner-ups Gujarat Titans for a whopping Rs 10 Crore in the IPL auction. Having a base price of just Rs 50 Lakh, Johnson would've surprised with his bidding and will look forward to justify his price tag as well.

Sameer Rizvi

Signed by defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for an incredible amount of Rs 8.40 Crore, 20-year-old Rizvi has a specialty in batting against spin. The uncapped batter who played well in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy as well would be looking forward to making his name in the upcoming season.

Deemed as the young Mahendra Singh Dhoni, this 19-year-old wicketkeeper-batter from Jharkhand is known to be a hard hitter on the pitch. Signed by Delhi Capitals for a big price tag of Rs 7.20 Crore, Kushagra can help his fellow teammate Rishabh Pant by sharing wicketkeeping duties during the season.

Gerald Coetzee

Last but not least, Proteas pacer Gerald Coetzee has been signed by Mumbai Indians for Rs 5 Crore after seeing his exploits in last year's ODI World Cup. Taking 19 wickets at the quadrennial event for South Africa, Coetzee's known for his pace in particular.
