IPL 2024: Delhi Bowlers Dismantle GT Batting Lineup, Restrict Them To 89

GT vs DC: Match 32 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) witnessed home side Gujarat Titans take on Delhi Capitals at the Narendra Modi Stadium on April 17.

With both teams in need of a win, the match is expected to be a close one. Indian captains Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant had a good set of players to choose from for the match as well with the only main absence being David Warner who was ruled out with a hand injury.

DC Bowlers Decimate GT Top Order

Put to bat first, Gujarat skipper Shubman Gill lost his wicket early on at just 8 runs which was followed by a top-order meltdown. The Titans' top 4 batters were all sent back to the pavilion on a collective total of just 30 runs on the night with Delhi pacers Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar, and Ishant Sharma experiencing good swing on the pitch.

Ishant Sharma and Mukesh Kumar picked up 2 and 1 scalp respectively within the powerplay as GT was seen struggling at 30/4 at the end of 6 overs, Gujarat's lowest powerplay score this season.

Later on, spinners took over from the pacers which saw Gujarat batters lose another 2 wickets courtesy of a brilliant work by wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant. Pant's swift work behind the wickets saw Abhinav Manohar and impact substitute Shahrukh Khan get stumped on the night which left the home side at 48/6 within 9 overs.

It was Rashid Khan (31) who top-scored for the Titans on the night as Rishabh Pant and co. had a great 1st innings for them in pursuit of a crucial win in the tournament. Gujarat only managed to post 89 on the board and would hope that their bowling lineup replicates DC's innings on the night.
