IPL 2024: Prabhsimran Shines As Punjab Kings Post 214/5 vs Hyderabad

SRH vs PBKS: As the final matchday of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) league stage began on May 19, the SunRisers Hyderabad took on the Punjab Kings at the Uppal Stadium in Hyderabad.

Prabhsimran Singh Steers PBKS To 214/5

Opting to bat first, PBKS openers Prabhsimran Singh and Atharva Taide put early pressure on SRH bowlers by hitting good shots right from the start. While Atharva had to depart after scoring a well-made 46, his opening partner continued to strike for the visitors on the day.

It was Prabhsimran Singh's 45-ball 71 which steered the Punjab Kings to a strong total in their final game of the campaign. The only overseas player in the squad, Rilee Rossouw (49) too contributed well with the bat for his side but failed to complete his half-century.

In the end, it was skipper Jitesh Sharma (32*) who took the visitors to a respectable 214/5 in their 20 overs in what was their final batting innings of IPL 2024.

Pacers did the job for the hosts on the day as Pat Cummins, T Natarajan (2), and Vijaykanth Viyaskanth took wickets on the day while Nitish Reddy was seen getting himself a spectacular run-out to dismiss Shashank Singh in the match.
