IPL 2024: Shubman Gill Reaches Special Landmark Against Rajasthan Royals

Match 24 of the Indian Premier League saw Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill kickstart his team's chase strongly at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on April 10.

The star Indian batter also reached a special landmark in the cash-rich league as the opener completed 3000 runs in the IPL on the night. Chasing a mammoth total of 197 against an unbeaten Rajasthan Royals side on the night, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharshan ended the powerplay at 44 runs without a loss of a wicket.

Gill Looses Cool in 1st Innings

Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill showed frustration as he hurried towards the on-field umpire following a DRS mistake involving the third umpire. The incident occurred in the 17th over while Mohit Sharma was bowling to Sanju Samson. At first, the on-field umpire deemed the delivery wide as it crossed the tramline.

However, subsequent events led to a controversial situation. Following the on-field umpire's wide signal, GT decided to challenge the decision with a review. Initially, the third umpire overturned the on-field umpire's decision, ruling the delivery as 'not wide.'

After additional scrutiny, the third umpire changed his ruling, advising the on-field umpire to uphold the 'wide' decision. This series of actions angered Gill, leading him to engage in heated disputes with the umpires.
