Paris Olympics 2024: Manu Bhaker Creates History, First Indian Woman To Earn A Shooting Medal
Manu Bhaker made history by winning India's first medal of the 2024 Paris Olympics, securing a bronze in the 10m Air Pistol Final on Sunday. The 22-year-old from Haryana became the first Indian female shooter to secure a medal at the Games, finishing third in the women's 10m air pistol final in the French capital.

Manu Bhaker completed her run with 22 shots, scoring 221.7, just 0.1 points shy of surpassing second-placed Yeji Kim in the penultimate series. With her bronze medal, 22-year-old Manu Bhaker ended Indiaโs 12-year Olympic medal drought in shooting and became the first female shooter to win a medal in the same event for India.

In a thrilling 21st shot, after securing a medal finish, Bhaker briefly overtook Kim Yeji by 0.1 points. However, in the 22nd shot, Yeji reclaimed her position, edging Bhaker out by another 0.1 points to move up to second place.
