However, many corners of the internet expressed strong disapproval of Parag’s YouTube search history, suggesting that he should feel ashamed of himself. On the other hand, some found the incident rather amusing.

In IPL 2024, Riyan Parag from Guwahati created a milestone by becoming the top scorer in a single season while batting at number four for RR, exceeding Rishabh Pant's 2018 record of 547 runs at that position.

Parag is the first player ever to score more than 550 runs in a single IPL season while batting at number four. Despite initial uncertainties about his role in RR for IPL 2024, he was promoted to number four and maintained that position throughout the season under the leadership of Sanju Samson.

This decision paid off well as Parag emerged as the top run-scorer for RR in IPL 2024, accumulating 567 runs in 13 innings at an average of 56.70 and an impressive strike rate of 151.60.
