Shikhar Dhawan, a powerful left-handed opener, achieved considerable success at the top of the batting order. For years, he and Rohit Sharma formed a dynamic opening partnership for India, leading the team to many victories, particularly in significant ICC tournaments. Dhawan has also played under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli.

Beyond his role as a dynamic batsman, Dhawan has taken on leadership responsibilities. He captained the Indian team during the 2021 tour of Sri Lanka and an ODI series against the West Indies in 2022, stepping in for the absent Kohli and Sharma. Additionally, Dhawan has led two franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Punjab Kings.

Once a feared opponent in the cricketing world, Shikhar Dhawan, the Indian cricketer affectionately known as ‘Gabbar’ by his fans,was notably absent from the sport since long. His name has recently made headlines due to personal developments; on October 4, the Delhi Family Court granted him a divorce from his estranged wife.

In the video he cherished all the moments of his career and the memories he has made. He thanked his coaches, family and the Indian Team. He announced his retirement from both International and Domestic cricket. He hung his boots today (August 24) and mentioned about BCCI and DDCA for giving him the opportunity to play.

Shikhar Dhawan is the co-owner of South Delhi Superstarz, a team featuring in the currently ongoing Delhi Premier League.
