England cricket team coach feels Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood's plan to manipulate the Scotland game in order to try and knock England out of the T20 World Cup is nothing but a joke. With England without a single win in the tournament after facing defeat against Australia and then their game against Scotland being washed out, they are in danger of getting knocked out in the group stage.

Speaking on the same matter, Aussie pacer Josh Hazlewood had said that in order to prevent another tough battle with the Three Lions in this tournament, they could be thinking about their options to try and manipulate their game against Scotland and go easy on them. England would now have to win their remaining games and hope that Scotland lose or not get a superior net run rate than them in the future.

England Coach Laughs Off Hazlewood's Remark In T20 World Cup

The Mitchell Marsh-led team has advanced to the Super 8 stage after a dominant victory over Namibia in their Group B match. Australia is aware of the potential threat posed by their arch-rivals, England, if they face off again in the tournament. Currently, England is in a precarious position in the Group B standings, having not secured any wins after their matches against Australia and Scotland, with the latter being abandoned due to rain. Hazelwood's comments have sparked considerable controversy in the cricket world, leading many fans to question whether Australia can actually follow through on this claim and whether it would be legal under ICC rules.

"To be honest, I was informed of that this morning. Look to me, these things are out of our control and I think I know Josh pretty well and I know his integrity. I don't think that's a thing. He has got a very good sense of humour and hopefully that's what he was doing," Mott said.

"I think in all these tournaments you want to get your best side out there playing the best cricket and taking that momentum into the next game. So, yeah, I don't think it's a thing," Mott added.

England not only have to win both of their remaining games against Oman and Namibia, they would also want Scotland to lose against Australia in their match.
