T20 World Cup 2024: Fans Confused After Checking Schedule, Here's Why
With the T20 World Cup set to be played set to be played this year by the West Indies and the USA, there has been a slight confusion among fans with regards to the discrepancies in the scheduling. ICC had initially declared that the tournament would start on June 1st, culminating in the final on June 29th. However, when the match timings were disclosed, fans found themselves bewildered as the first match was slated for June 2nd, causing confusion among them.

Cause Of Confusion Among Fans
The root of this confusion lies in the match timings, as the tournament is set to occur in the West Indies and the USA, both of which operate on local times approximately 10.30 hours behind Indian Standard Time (IST). As a result, Indian viewers are particularly perplexed by the scheduling and timing of the tournament. Because of this time difference, matches are arranged to commence earlier than usual, adding to the bewilderment among Indian viewers.

3-4 T20 World Cup Matches In a Day
The confusion regarding the schedule is particularly pronounced in Indian Standard Time (IST). Some days feature matches in the USA or West Indies at night followed by morning matches the next day in India, leading to four matches taking place in a single day. For instance, if there are two night matches in the West Indies, starting at 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM respectively, they will be aired in India at 5 AM and 6 AM the following day.
Similarly, day matches in the West Indies on a given day will be broadcasted in India at 8 PM and 10:30 PM on the same day. Consequently, there will be days with three or four matches scheduled. Matches on June 4th, 6th, 9th, 12th, 14th, and 17th will follow Indian Standard Time, while June 8th and 15th will each have four matches played according to Indian time.
