Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, along with other prominent Indian cricketers, will depart for the T20 World Cup 2024 in the first group. According to reports, they will fly from Mumbai to Dubai at 10 PM on Saturday, May 25, before continuing their journey to New York. Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, and Kuldeep Yadav are also among the notable players leaving the country on the same day.

Sanju Samson, Yuzvendra Chahal, Avesh Khan, and Yashasvi Jaiswal are set to depart with the second group of Indian cricketers. Their departure follows the conclusion of their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 campaign, where Rajasthan Royals lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad by 36 runs in the Qualifier 2 on Friday, May 24 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Among the four players, Avesh Khan is not part of the main squad but is included in the reserves along with Khaleel Ahmed, Rinku Singh, and Shubman Gill. Khaleel Ahmed and Shubman Gill's campaigns ended after Delhi Capitals (DC) and Gujarat Titans (GT) were knocked out of IPL 2024 before the playoffs. However, Rinku Singh will participate in the final scheduled for May 26 between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Hardik Pandya, the vice-captain of the Indian team for the T20 World Cup, traveled to London after his team MI failed to qualify for the playoffs. He trained in London for a few days, and there is a possibility that he might join the national team directly from there. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding whether Hardik will join the team in Dubai or New York.

After arriving in New York, India will have a couple of days to settle in before facing Bangladesh, led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, in their warm-up match on Saturday, June 1. The match will be held at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York.

India's first match in the T20 World Cup is against Ireland, led by Paul Stirling, in a Group A match on Wednesday, June 5 in New York.
