T20 World Cup 2024: West Indies Legend Appointed As Afghanistan's Bowling Consultant

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced on Tuesday that former West Indies star and T20 World Cup champion Dwayne Bravo will be the bowling consultant for the Afghanistan national team during the T20 World Cup in 2024. Dwayne John Bravo, 40, is a former right-arm medium-fast bowling all-rounder for the West Indies, having participated in 295 international matches, scoring 6,423 runs and securing 363 wickets. His career also includes 100 First Class, 227 List A, and 573 T20 appearances.

Dwayne Bravo is currently T20 cricket's highest wicket-taker, with 625 wickets to his name. Additionally, he has amassed around 7,000 runs in the format, establishing himself as one of the most successful fast-bowling all-rounders in T20 cricket. Bravo's dynamic style of play and entertainment has garnered him admiration and respect globally. He has won several titles, including the T20 World Cup, Champions Trophy, IPL, and CPL. Beyond his international playing career, Bravo has recently served as the Bowling Coach for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2024.

Afghanistan has already arrived in St. Kitts and Nevis and is set to commence a 10-day training camp as part of their preparations for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, which will be overseen by the coaching staff, including DJ Bravo.
