That's The Real Game: Virat Kohli Speaks On Toughest Times And His Belief

The ultimate cricket legend and one of the most successful cricketers in the world, Virat Kohli is known for his stellar batting and his high passion for the game. Today, Kohli is seen as an inspiration for many, his consistency in all the formats is what makes him shine through the game.

His resilience and deep dedication for the game makes him the king of the game. He served as the captain for Team India from 2013 to 2022. Under his captaincy India achieved several feats and became extremely dominant in Test cricket.

King Kohli has ruled the game over the years

Kohli holds numerous records and is the top-run scorer in international cricket with over 70 centuries across formats. He is also the fastest cricketer to reach 8000, 9000, 10000, and 11,000 ODI runs. But despite so many achievements Kohli has seen toughest of the challenges,  in between 2020 and 2022 he had to deal with an extremely lean patch.

Virat's champion mindset to deal with challenges

A video is now going viral where Virat Kohli talks about overcoming those tough challenges in life, during the podcast he says:

"How you react to the times when you are not feeling great and how you ride that wave and accept things the way they are. It's a very delicate thing to do when you know you're not doing well and you feel like you don't want to work, you don't want to go to practice, you don't want to work hard in the gym. But you feel like as an individual, you're respecting all phases of life, and even in your worst times, you are committed to do the hard work, and it's not based on success. That, to me, is the real game here, because that is eventually God's test. This is how I look at it and if you're not up to the test then you are basically not being grateful and not being loyal to the opportunity that's been given to you."

Kohli faced a century drought from Novermber 2019 and September 2022, even though he was trying to score but the consistent poor form turned out to be a huge problem for the star cricketer. At that time the pressure of captaincy was also extreme which made him take decision to step down from captaincy of all formats by the end of 2021. Later he also stepped down from the captaincy of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Virat took the decision to step down from the captaincy and take time to reflect on his game, helped him bounce back even stronger than ever. The 35 year old batsmen is considered to be the epitome of fitness with immense dedication for the game.

Recently he retired from the T20Is after India won the T20 World Cup against South Africa bringing their 11-year drought to an end. Kohli showed his masterclass batting and kept India afloat with a dominant 76 runs knock in the World Cup final.
